The Department of Neurology is a key specialty of the hospital and participates in the National Medical Quality Control Network for Neurological Diseases, stroke-center development, and alliances related to neurointervention. Focusing on cerebrovascular disease, it provides standardized diagnosis and treatment of neurological diseases, with interventional diagnosis and treatment of cerebrovascular disease as one of its distinctive strengths. The Department of Hematology was established in 2016, subsequently opened an independent ward, and participates in the development of regional hematology specialty alliances. It diagnoses and treats common, difficult, and critical diseases of the hematologic system, has facilities and capabilities related to hematopoietic stem-cell collection and transplantation, and undertakes clinical care, teaching, and research. The Department of Nephrology is a Shenzhen branded discipline in kidney disease and participates in international collaboration for the development of nephrology specialties. Supported by its clinical research team for chronic kidney disease, it conducts clinical care, research, and teaching centered on standardized diagnosis, staging assessment, comprehensive treatment, and long-term management of kidney diseases. Drawing on 2 academician teams from the National Clinical Research Center for Kidney Diseases, the department operates outpatient clinics and wards within its Kidney Disease Medical Center, as well as hemodialysis and peritoneal-dialysis centers. Its physician team includes 3 chief physicians, 4 associate chief physicians, and 8 attending physicians.

The Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism was established when the hospital opened in 2015. It is a key discipline of the hospital and is developing a standardized metabolic-disease management center. The department provides coordinated examination, diagnosis, and treatment services for diabetes and its complications and also diagnoses and treats endocrine disorders such as pituitary and adrenal diseases and abnormalities of growth and development. Its team has 11 physicians, including 5 with senior professional titles and 4 doctorate holders, and it operates specialist outpatient clinics and an inpatient department. The department has completed registration for clinical trials of drugs and medical devices.

The Department of Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic and Abdominal Wall Surgery at Southern Medical University Shenzhen Hospital integrates clinical care, research, and teaching. It is a joint master's training site of Southern Medical University and a key department under development within the hospital. It has subspecialties in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery and in hernia and abdominal-wall surgery, performs related conventional and laparoscopic operations, and is equipped with electronic choledochoscopes, 3D liver imaging, tumor radiofrequency ablation, and other equipment. It emphasizes minimally invasive and precision care and enhanced recovery.
